Christi Meril believes in giving back and supports many organizations by donating her original art and time to their fundraisers and missions.
Organizations that will be a focus for Christi in 2023 will be DCAC/Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center’s Art for Advocacy, Dwell with Dignity/Thrift Studio 2023 & DIFFA’s 30th Anniversary Gala “Extravaganza.”
DIFFA Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids:
Christi is thrilled to be supporting DIFFA again in 2023. DIFFA holds the largest non-profit event in Dallas every spring called “House of DIFFA” where they raise funds for organizations fighting HIV/AIDS.
2023 House of DIFFA: The List will be held at the Hilton Anatole on May 13th. There will be a fashion show, silent auction, live auction and this year’s emcee will be Kristin Chenowith! Christi was asked to create a jacket that will be part of the auction at the event. She has also created an original piece of work titled “Our Superpower” that will be in the live auction.
Christi is also a member of the 2022-23 DIFFA Style Council. The Style Council is made up of leaders in the community and serve as fundraisers and ambassadors for DIFFA Dallas.
DCAC:
Art for Advocacy, benefitting DCAC Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center will be held Fall 2023. For the third year in row, Christi will be donating an original piece of art to the event. She serving again this year as a member of the Art Curatorial Committee. The ALG Collective is one of the gallery sponsors of the event. In addition to each member serving on a committee and donating original work to Art for Advocacy, they have held meetings and events at the ALG Collective that support DCAC.
DGFA/Dallas Galleries for Advocacy:
Christi is a founding Board Member of this new non-profit in Dallas. DGFA is an all-inclusive, non-profit arts organization on a mission to invest in and support all of the art galleries in Dallas. DGFA also supports those in need in our community by raising funds that will support DCAC/Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
Dwell with Dignity:
Christi has been supporting Dallas based interior design driven DwD by donating her work to every Thrift Studio since 2013. She volunteered at DwD weekly from 2016-2017 as part of the Design Team creating spaces for the clients of DwD.
In 2017 Christi served as Art Chair for Thrift Studio. In 2020, Christi and her fellow ALG Collective studio mates served as Art Co-Chairs of Dwell with Dignity’s Thrift Studio 2020. The ALG Collective also hosted Thrift Studio’s Art & Color Party 2020.
Christi is excited to be donating a Modern Love Heart in 2023.
Other organizations that she has supported through the years include AIN Dallas, Scottish Rite Hospital of Texas for Children, West Dallas Community School, Rise School of Dallas, Autism Treatment Center, BOEC Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, Colorado, The Dallas Jewish Community Center, Pearce Community Women’s League, Dallas Holocaust Museum, Dallas Academy, Hockaday, ASID, and others.
